Fred GoudieFred Goudie, age 85, of Morning Sun, died Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. The son of Roy and Elsie Wright Goudie, he was born March 6, 1918, at Morning Sun. On June 23, 1938, he married Wilma Wilkerson at her home in Mount Union.
He was a 1935 Graduate of the Morning Sun High School. He was a retired farmer and carpenter and enjoyed restoring antique tractors.
Survivors include his wife; one brother, Paul Goudie of Morning Sun; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Vernon Ray Goudie, and one sister, Eva Allen.
The funeral service for Fred Goudie was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun. Interment followed at the Elmwood Cemetery, Morning Sun.
Open visitation was Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. There was no family visitation.
A memorial fund has been established for the Morning Sun Community Ambulance Service.
