COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa - David R. Faler, 74, Columbus Junction, died Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at the Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

The Rev. Faye Fedlam of the Columbus Junction United Presbyterian Church will officiate.

Mr. Faler was born May 20, 1937, at the family home in Muscatine County, the son of Ralph E. and Viola M. (Wedekind) Faler. He married Janice E. Long Aug. 19, 1958, in Columbus Junction. He was a member of the Columbus Junction United Presbyterian Church. He was an avid reader especially enjoying, westerns, Zane Gray and Louis L'Amour.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Janice of Columbus Junction; daughters, Cynthia Faler of Columbus Junction and Julianne Patterson and husband, Malcom of Washington; sons, Matthew Faler and companion, Edwina of Louisiana and Nathan Faler and wife, Julie of Columbus Junction; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Paul Faler and wife, Pat of Chillicothe; and sister, Mary Robeson and husband, Don of Quincy, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Michael; two great-granddaughters and one brother, Ernest Faler.
