Service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 28, Apostolic Christian Church, Oakville. Visitation: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello, family will meet friends from 5-8 p.m. Burial: Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery at Oakville.

WAPELLO, Iowa - Kenneth Roland 'Kenny' Grimm, age 89, formerly of Wapello, Iowa, died at his residence in Ridgecrest Village in Davenport on Monday morning, July 25, 2011. The son of Chris and Julia Massner Grimm, he was born on August 30, 1921 in West Bend, Iowa. He married Janice Williams on May 25, 1952 in Wapello.

He served in the U.S. Army during WW II in the European Theatre. He was a farmer and retired in 1982. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church at Oakville, Iowa. After his retirement he was a co-founder of Water For Life in Haiti. He was also involved with the Community Action in Wapello. He enjoyed woodworking, especially making tables.

His family surviving him includes his wife, Janice of Davenport; three daughters, Rhonda and Doug Peters of Wapello, Kay and David Rash of Bettendorf, and Annette Grimm of Bettendorf; four grandchildren, Derek, Jennifer, Isabelle and Jessica; two great-grandchildren, Coy and Crew; a sister, Mavis Hermann of Morton, Illinois; three brothers, Mark Grimm of Wapello, Charles Grimm of Rose Hill, Kansas, and David Grimm of Verona, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Clyde, Floyd and Jess; and a sister, Ursela Barth.

A memorial fund has been established for the benefit of the Apostolic Christian Church Building Fund and the Water For Life.
