Wilma Wasson, 95, of Columbus City, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2011, at her home in Lone Tree. Funeral services for Wilma were at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2011, at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction. Rev. Al Coffin officiated the services. Burial was in the Columbus City Cemetery. Casket bearers were Ron Cutcomp, Frank Mincer, Bill Larew, Sam Bell, Gary Mincer and Mark Shear. Visitation for Wilma was Thursday, June 30, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Wilma Mincer was born on May 21, 1916, in Fremont Township the daughter of Frank and Amelia (Dvorak) Mincer. On April 12, 1941, Wilma was united in marriage to Lloyd A. Wasson in Kahoka, Missouri. Wilma was a homemaker and a member of the Columbus City United Methodist Church in Columbus City, the C.C.I.C. and the Columbus Junction American Legion Auxiliary. Wilma enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidering and gardening.

Wilma will be missed by her daughter, Janice Schafer of Lone Tree; her son, Jim Wasson and his wife, Karen of Conesville; two granddaughters, Shannon Schafer of Hills and Samantha Wasson of Lone Tree; one brother, Frank Mincer and his wife, Faithe of Riverside and one sister, Hester Larew of Lone Tree.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, husband on February 13, 1978, one grandson, James Wasson, Jr., four sisters, Nora Marie Mincer, Ethel Collins, Evelyn Britton and Leona Wilkerson and one brother, Joe Mincer.
