MRS. MARY COON PASSES AWAY

Dies in Burlington Hospital After Operation-
Funeral Rites Sunday

Wapello, Ia., Dec. 4 - Mrs. Mary
Eliza Coon, wife of J. L. Coon, proprietor
of the Commercial hotel in this
city passed away Thursday morning
at 7 o'clock at the Burlington hospital
following an operation for gall stones
and appendicitis performed Sunday
night.

She was born in Champaign county,
Ill., and reached her 65th birthday
Nov. 25, 1930. The body was brought
here Thursday forenoon. Funeral
services will be held at the Presbyterian
church at one o'clock Sunday
afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Buston,
formerly of Columbus Junction.
Mrs. Coon is survived by the husband,
two daughters, Mrs. Audrey Bond, Wapello;
Mrs. Harry Ibbitson, Winfield; three sons,
John B. of Columbus Junction; Roy and
Alfred L. of Morning Sun; one sister,
Mrs. Jennie Phelps of Redland, Cal.; two
brothers, Jessie McGee of Burlington, and
Dan McGee of Detroit, Mich.. The family
came here a year ago from Columbus Junction
which had been their home for more than
twenty years, coming to Louisa county from
the state of Illinois.
