FORMER RESIDENT DIES AT KLAMATH FALLS

Word was received here last week of the death of Mrs. Sarah Jane Wilson, a former resident of this community, which occurred at Klamath Falls, Oregon, at 9:45 o'clock, Thursday evening, January 16, 1941. Mrs. Wilson grew to womanhood in this community, but for many years has resided in Nebraska and Oregon.

Sarah Jane Bailey, daughter of P.D. and Deborah T. Bailey, was born at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, November 27, 1859; departed this life January 16, 1941, at the age of 81 years 1 month and 21 days after the illness of three weeks.

On December 18, 1875, she was united in marriage to Alpheus Mortimer Wilson, who passed away Jan 2, 1933. To their union was born one son, Reason Pierce, who died in infancy, and two daughters, Amanda T. Triggs of Cross Timber, [Hickory County] MO, and Tirzah M. Kohler of Klamath Falls, Oregon, at whose home she passed away.

She leaves to mourn her passing her two daughters, two son-in-laws, 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, John C. Bailey of Oakville, Iowa and William S. Bailey, Wapello; one sister, Mrs. Tirzah E. Erbes, Klamath Falls, Oregon, and many other relatives and friends who mourn her passing. Mrs. Erbes was at the bedside of her sister when she passed away.

From 1889 until 1933, she and her husband resided on their homestead, seven miles north of Maxwell, Neb;, until his death, after which she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Kohler and family. They lived at Brady, Neb, for a year or two and then moved to Klamath Falls where they have since resided.

Mrs. Wilson possessed a cheerful disposition; was a good friend and neighbor; always ready to help those in need.

Funeral services were held from the Earl Whitlock funeral home in Klamath Falls, Jan 18, at 2 o'clock pm. The casket was covered with beautiful flowers, expressions of sympathy for the family and esteem for the departed friend and neighbor.

She was laid to rest in the Mount Laki cemetery.
