Rita D. Ray, 84, of 812 Colonial Avenue, died on May 25, 2011, at home of natural causes.

A Memorial will be at a later date in Dubuque, IA.

She was born on October 12, 1926 in Dubuque. She was the daughter of Joseph and Lillian (Biver) Haas.

She graduated from Immaculate Conception and Clarke College, both in Dubuque.

She married James D. Ray on September 22, 1950. He preceded her in death on September 5, 1998.

She worked at Columbus Junction State Bank for many years.

Survivors include a brother, William and (Mary) Haas of Bettendorf, IA; and a sister -in-law, Teresa Haas of Dubuque and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Daniel, Maurice, Ralph and Harold Haas.
