Teresa Ramirez de Escobar, 40, of Columbus Junction, Iowa, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at a later date in Penjamo, Guanajuato, Mexico. Local arrangements are in the care of the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction. There will be no local visitation or services scheduled. A memorial has been established at the funeral home in Teresa’s name. Teresa Ramirez was born October 15, 1970, in Guanajuato, Mexico, the daughter of Alfredo and Arcelia (Lopez) Ramirez. Teresa was united in marriage to Nemecio Escobar in 1991 in Mexico.

Teresa will be dearly missed by her husband, Nemecio Escobar; her children, Jesus, Diego, Jesenia and Freddy Escobar, all of Columbus Junction; and her mother of Mexico.

Teresa was preceded in death by her father.
