Ivan W. Keller

Ivan William Keller, 88, of Wapello, Iowa, died Sunday evening, May 8, 2011, at the Wapello Nursing & Rehab Center. The son of Charles and Harriet Wyerman Keller, he was born on August 26, 1922 at Mediapolis. He married Mary Jean Walker on June 1, 1958 at West Liberty. She preceded him in death on November 23, 2010.

He attended Huron School and graduated from Mediapolis High School. Ivan served in the Army during World War II. He worked in the lumberyard for D & P Lumber in Wapello.

Ivan was a member of the Moose Lodge in Muscatine and the VFW Glenn Allen Post 5166 of Wapello.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and had been active in wetlands development.

His family includes a son, Kirk and Tammy Keller of Wapello; three grandsons, Collin Johnston of Papillion, Nebraska, Landon Keller of Peoria, Illinois and Jordan Keller at home; a sister, Helen Byerly of Mt. Pleasant; a brother-in-law, Bob Walker of Wapello; and three sisters-in-law, Arlene Otto of West Liberty, Janet Keller of Omaha, Nebraska and Darlene Keller-Scholten of Washington, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Jean; and two brothers, John and Howard.

Cremation was completed.

A graveside service for Ivan and Mary Jean Keller was held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at the Port Louisa Cemetery, rural Wapello. Following the service, the family and friends gathered for a lunch and visiting at the Corner Market in Wapello.

A Memorial Fund was established.

The Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello is provided the care and arrangements for the Ivan Keller Family.
