Capt. Roy Tandy, Jr.

Capt Roy Wm. Tandy Jr. MSC USN ret., 3410 Ramsgate Ter, Alexandria, VA 22309 died April 26, 2011.

Roy was born May 21, 1933 in the hospital in Burlington but always considered Morning Sun his home town and enjoyed any time he could spend there.

Roy Sr. was the town’s doctor and Mayor. When World War II broke out, he joined the Navy and served in the pacific Theater.

When Roy Wm. Grew up, he followed his Dad in the Navy. Roy Sr. was a doctor, Roy Jr. was a hospital administrator, serving in many places and for 32 years.

Roy is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Jo, and three daughters, Mary Gonzalez and Paul, Janet Truscott and David, Laura Tandy and John Steitz.

There are three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetic Association or charity of your choice.
