Mildred E. Lutz

Mildred E. Lutz, 94, of Columbus Junction, died June 14, 2003 at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Columbus Junction. She was born November 24, 1908 in Johnson County, Iowa. She married Raymond Lutz on December 22, 1927 in Iowa City.

She was a charter member of the Independent Bible Church in Columbus Junction, now known as Hope Bible Church. She was a homemaker and farm wife who enjoyed gardening, flowers, canning, and cooking. She loved and enjoyed her family very much.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction with the Rev. Ed Kuriscak of the Edgewood Baptist Church in Rock Island, Illinois officiating. Pallbearers were Terry Johnson, Dennis Wagoner, Tim Bausch and Brian Bausch. Honorary bearer was Lyman Wagoner. Burial was in the Conesville Cemetery. A luncheon was served at the American Legion in Columbus Junction after the graveside service.

Visitation was 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present.

A memorial has been established at the funeral home.

Survivors include three daughters; Rose Wagoner and husband Lyman of Conesville, Joanne Johnson of Rock Island and Janet Bausch of Moline, Illinois, one brother; Kenneth Jarrard and wife Marilyn of Muscatine; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Evelyn Trout of Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Velda Lutz and Letha Hobart, and one brother, Glenn Jarrard.
