Ralph Timothy Cummings, 77, of Columbus Junction, IA, passed away April 30, 2011 at Colonial Manor Care Center in Columbus Junction, IA. Cremation was facilitated by the FCS Life Transition and Cremation Center of Muscatine, IA and the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services of Columbus Junction, IA.

Mr. Cummings was born December 7, 1933 in Bonner Springs, KS, the son of Timothy B. Cummings and Louise T. Cummings (Treas). Ralph lived in Kansas City, KS area during his school years. Most of his life he lived in Homestead, FL and had been living in Columbus Junction, IA for the last 10 years. He attended Ward High School and served in the US Army, stationed in Japan in 1957. He was also the owner of Cummings Tree Trimming Service in Homestead, FL.

Ralph is survived by and will be dearly missed by his son, Timothy B. Cummings of Kansas City, KS; his sister, Catherine L. Schuetze and her husband, Roger of Columbus Junction, IA; his granddaughter, Samantha F. Cummings (Franke) of Smithville, MO; his great granddaughter, Hanna F. Cummings of Kansas City, KS; niece, Patty K. Schuetze (Turner) of Des Moines, IA; nephews, Chuck F. Schuetze of Anchorage, AK and Marty A. Schuetze of Plymouth, MN; grandnieces, Jennifer A. Turner (Junker) and Amanda K. Turner of Des Moines, IA; and grandnephew, Christopher B. Schuetze of Albany, NY.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Timothy B. Cummings in 1946 and Louise T. Cummings in 1997; his son, Ralph M. Cummings in 1980; his granddaughter, Heather M. Cummings (Santiago) in 2010; and his nephews, Brian C. Schuetze in 1991 and Dan E. Schuetze in 2000.

Visitation for Ralph will be held on Friday, May 20, 2011, from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm at the Porter Funeral Home in Kansas City, KS, followed by Memorial Graveside Services at 1:00 pm at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. The Rev. Rick Behrens will officiate.
