Janice Kay Bailey, 52, of rural Wapello, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at the Great River Hospice House, West Burlington.

Cremation will be accorded. No services are planned.

The Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello provided the care and arrangements for the family of Janice Bailey.

A memorial fund has been established for the benefit of the Great River Hospice.

Mrs. Bailey was born May 8, 1958, the daughter of Ray Nelson and Jean Esther Sands Wykert ,in Burlington. She married Herb Bailey Dec. 3, 1976, in Oakville.

She graduated from Wapello High School in 1976. She worked at Grimm Bros. Plastics for 20 years until her illness. She enjoyed her flowers and was an active Boyds collector. She loved her children and family.

She is survived by her husband, Herb; her mother, Jean Wykert of Morning Sun; two sons, Brandon John "B.J." and Laura Bailey of Mediapolis and Joshua Ray Bailey of Burlington; two granddaughters, Camryn and Avery Bailey; three sisters, Connie and Kenneth Meeker of Oakville, Jill and Duane Beenblossom of Morning Sun, and Nancy Wykert of Yantis, Texas; two brothers, Harry Wykert of Oakville and Jack and Tereasa Wykert of Morning Sun; and several nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Wykert; two brothers, James Ray Wykert and Carl Samuel Wykert; and a nephew, Aaron Wykert.
