Kris Ann Griffith, 39, of Columbus Junction, died on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at her aunt’s home after a battle against cancer.

Celebration of Life Gathering was held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at the Thirsty Camel, Conesville. Online condolences for the Griffith family may be left at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Memorials may be left to the Washington County Hospice Program. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Kris Ann was born on February 21, 1971 in Washington, the daughter of Richard Kramer Griffith and Janet Ruth Blake Budds.

She attended Las Vegas, Nevada, and Muscatine Schools.

Kris Ann enjoyed drawing, softball, Eeyore and life on the go. She loved her children very much and also her dog, Cuddles. She had a heart of gold and was one of the kindest souls you’d ever meet.

Those left to honor her memory include her mother, Janet Budds of Las Vegas, Nevada; her father, Richard Griffith of Letts; one son, Christopher Griffith of Missouri; one daughter, Chalya Griffith of Missouri; two sisters, Melissa Newland of South Dakota, and DiAnn Bean of Columbus Junction; several nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Madeleo and Ileane Blake, and her paternal grandfather, Howard Griffith.
