Ignacio “Nacho” Martinez Jr., 47, of Davenport, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services were held on Monday, January 3, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial was in the Conesville Cemetery. Casketbearers were Dustin Folker, Mike Lopez, Ricky Reimers, Tony Miller, Donicio Marin and John Lindsey. Honorary Casketbearers were Damian Martinez. Visitation for Ignacio was held on Sunday, January 2 ,2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Ignacio Martinez Jr. was born on March 25, 1963, in Del Rio, Texas, the son of Ignacio Sr. and Natalia (Marin) Martinez. Ignacio was a 1981 graduate of Columbus Community High School. He worked for HON and was a Reserve Deputy for Muscatine County Sheriff. He was on a Pool League in Muscatine and enjoyed bowling and watching movies and was an avid Chicago Bears fan, but most of all spending time with friends and family, especially his grandson.

Ignacio will be deeply missed by his son, Anthony Martinez and his wife, Sarah, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; grandson, Alexander Martinez, mother, Natalia of Conesville; his brothers, Abel Martinez of Conesville, David Martinez of Davenport, Uby Martinez and his wife, Carrie of Iowa City and Mike Lopez of Davenport; his nieces and nephews, Ann-Delia Reckward, Hector Martinez, Daimian Martinez, Ellie Martinez, Maisie Martinez and Benjamin Lopez and special friend, Carla McFadden.
He was preceded in death by his father, maternal and paternal grandparents.
