Charles “Charlie” Buser, 88, of Columbus Junction, formerly of Conesville, died Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Colonial Manor in Columbus Junction. Services for Charlie will be 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Columbus Junction. Rev. Al Coffin will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Conesville Cemetery. Honorary casketbearers will be Charlie’s grandsons, James Buser, Jeff Buser, Sam Buser, Brad Nielsen, Joe Fulton, Andy Schatzberg, Alex Williams, Max Williams, Charlie Buser and Nick Williams. Following the committal services, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church. Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 16, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services, Columbus Junction. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Charlie. Sympathy notes may be left to the Buser family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Charles Lamoyne Buser was born on March 12, 1921, in Conesville the son of George M. and Frances H. (Shoultz) Buser. On June 29, 1941, Charlie was united in marriage to Ruth M. Walker in Morning Sun. Charlie was a farmer in the Conesville area. Charlie served on the Peoples National Bank Board as a director for 28 years, Columbus Community School Board for 6 years, L.W. Farm Service Board for 10 years and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Columbus Junction and Lions Club. Charlie was an avid Hawkeye fan who enjoyed fishing with his sons, golfing, playing cards and having coffee with the happy farmers. Most of all, Charlie loved to spend time with his family.

Charlie will be dearly missed by his wife, Ruth of Columbus Junction; four sons, Lamoyne G. Buser and his wife, Janice of Conesville, Loren E. Buser of Cedar Falls, Raymond A. Buser and his wife, Sally of Fairfax and Dr. Boyd R. Buser and his wife, Pamela of Pikeville, Kentucky; three daughters, Beverly R. Nielsen and her husband, Steve of Columbus Junction, Sandra J. Schatzberg of Waterloo and Susan J. Williams and her husband, Rob of Manson, Iowa; son-in-law, Dr. Brian Fulton of Cherokee, Iowa; 22 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Charlene R. Fulton and one brother, Donald
