Duane DickinsonDuane I. Dickinson, 86, of Muscatine, died Thursday, November 26, 2009, at Unity Hospital.
The funeral service was at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Rev. Kimberly Bowles officiated the service. Pallbearers were Dick Leach, Kenny Leach, Ted Kemp, Tom Carter, Steve Ellsworth, Matt Bettis and Darin Leach. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation was Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral home.
Memorials may be left to the Letts Fire Department or Carrington Place.

Duane was born October 4, 1923, in Muscatine, the son of Charles and Bertha Werner Dickinson. He graduated from Letts High School Class of 1941.
He was a U.S. Army veteran having served as a medical technician with tours in Japan, Philippines, and the U.S.
He was a retired farmer and grain truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Dickinson of Muscatine; one daughter, Mary Dickinson of Muscatine; and one sister, Margie Bailey of Davenport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Karen, in infancy, two brothers, and two sisters.
