Marian Lucille Hartsock, 79, of Burlington, died Monday November 23, 2009 at her home in Burlington. The daughter of Dennis and Crystal Bowers Arihood, she was born March 24, 1930 in Wapello. On September 15, 1951 she married Dean “Red” Hartsock in rural Columbus Junction; he died June 19, 2008.

Mrs. Hartsock graduated from high school in Wapello, Iowa. She worked for thirty years as a legal secretary for Aspelmeyer Law Firm in Burlington. During her retirement years, she worked for Cray Law firm, Cahill Law firm, and the Ford Law firm.

Her pastimes included duck hunting with her husband and playing bridge and bingo with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, musical recitals, and dance recitals.

Survivors include: three daughters, Kimberly (Mike) Bush, Kylene (Danny) Tillotson, and Kambra McAlister all of Burlington; three nieces and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister Marjory Knapp, and two grandchildren. As per her request, her body will be cremated and there will be no services.
