Keith H. Robbins

Keith H. Robbins, 78, of Wapello, Iowa, died Monday morning, October 26, 2009, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. The son of John Carl and Beulah May Helmers Robbins, he was born on June 16, 1931 in LaHarpe, Illinois. Keith married Lois Ann Housman on September 2, 1949 in Nashua, Iowa.

He attended country school in Illinois and graduated from Yarmouth High School in Yarmouth, Iowa. Keith farmed all his life. He was a member of the United Methodist Church at Wapello and a charter member of the Louisa County Corn Growers Association. He had served on the Sperry School Board and was a 4-H leader in Wapello. He was a past Sunday School teacher. Keith was an avid Cubs and Hawkeye fan. He loved his family and enjoyed the family activities.

His family includes his wife, Lois; a son, Timothy W. and Elizabeth Robbins of Wapello; two daughters, Brenda K. and Thomas Wagg of Cedar Rapids and Pamela J. and Mark Pugh of Columbus Junction; ten grandchildren, Aaron and Christina Robbins, Angela and Sean Jenks, Doug and Faith Housman, Crystal and Jeff Wiley, Janelle and Mike Clymer, Andrew and Mergan Wagg, Morgan and Jason Wilcox, Mallory Wagg, Todd Pugh and Matt Pugh; eight great-grandchildren Lexy, Colby, and Cian Jenks, Aiden and Own Houseman, Bryn and Bristol Wiley and Samuel Wagg.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral service for Keith Robbins will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2009, at the United Methodist Church in Wapello with Revs. Sue Ellen Sherman, Scott Smith, and Harlan Winter officiating.

The family and friends will gather after the burial for a luncheon and fellowship at the Wapello Ambulance Building.

Visitation was from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello where the family met with friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

A memorial fund has been established for the benefit of the United Methodist Church Building Fund.
