HOLD FUNERAL OF GEORGE MCCLEARY

(Journal's Special Service.)
Columbus Junction, Ia., March 17. - The last sad rites were held today over the remains of the late George W. McCleary, who passed away here on Thursday following a paralytic stroke. The funeral services were held at 10 o'clock this morning from the M.R. Edmondson home and were conducted by Rev. E.C. Brooks. Interment was made in the Grandview cemetery.

Mr. McCleary was born in Grandview township March 20, 1842. He was married to Miss Nancy Simkins April 1861, in Louisa county and they resided in this county until in 1884 they moved to Kansas and later to Oklahoma where the wife passed away three years ago last December. Eleven children survive. They are Mrs. Edmondson of Columbus Junction; Sam of Muscatine; Mrs. Helen Classin of LaSygne, Kansas; Mrs. Victoria Carpenter of Fontana, Kansas; John and Grover of Joplin, Mo.; Mrs. Bertha Martin, Mrs. Pearl Skye and Jefferson McCleary of Miami, Okla.; Mrs. Anna Holt of Strang, Okla.; Mrs. Lula Davis of Plainview, Texas.
