Grandview, Ia., Feb. 9 - Wm. Guthrie, an old and highly respected citizen of Grandview, passed away yesterday at an early hour after an illness extending over several months with stomach trouble. He took sick about six months ago, but complained not and went about his usual duties until a month ago, when he was compelled to give up active work and gradually grew worse until the end came.

Deceased was aged 73 years, 6 months and 3 days, and was born in Ohio. He came to Iowa when a young man, locating in Grandview, which has since been his home. Fifty-one years ago on the 22nd of this month, he was united in marriage to Miss Marietta Vandevort, who, with four sons, are left to mourn the loss of a loving husband and father. The sons are Theodore, of Cyracuse, Neb., Silas and William, of Muscatine, and James M., of this city.

The funeral services will be held from the Methodist Episcopal church in Grandview Saturday morning at 10 o'clock, with interment in the Grandview cemetery.
