Word was received at Grandview last week of the death of Jacob Devries, age 33 years, a former resident of that place, which occurred on Monday, Nov. 27, at Gill, Colorado. The remains were brought to Grandview for burial, obsequies held at the Evangelical church on Friday at 2:00 p.m.

Mr. Devries left Grandview last spring to engage in farming in Colorado with two brothers. The cause of his death has not been learned. Aside from his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Devries of Grandview, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Chas. Young of Grandview, three brothers, William, Benjamin and Harry at home and two brothers, Albert and Henry in Colorado.
