Donald Robert Noble, 56, rural Morning Sun, died Saturday, Oct. 21, at Burlington Memorial hospital following an extended illness.
He was born June 10, 1916, in Louisa county, the son of Fred and Mary Etta Ashby Noble. He was married Aug. 13,1938 to Mildred Perkins at Kahoka, Mo.
Mr. Noble was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church at Burlington; Veterans of Foreign Wars, Wapello; and the Eagles of Muscatine. He had been an employee of Heinz Co. of Muscatine,and had been a lifetime resident of this area. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, Don of Columbus Junction and Fred of Burlington; six brothers, Floyd,Arnold and Walter of Wapello; Harlan of Nebraska; Roy of California; and Lester of Muscatine; two sisters, Mrs Pearl Baily of Burlington and Mrs. John Bazel of Leslie, Mo.; five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.
Last rites were hled Monday, Octy. 23 at Dudgeon-McCulley funeral home with Rev. Vernon Sorenson officiating; Phyllis McCulley was organist and the flowers were cared for by Emily Perkins, Alice Christianson and Janice Hoehle.
Bearers were Kenneth Sayer, Raymond Bates, Harold Reeves, Gene Gorham, Vernon Wilson and Roger Noble. Military burial rites were held in the Wapello cemetery.
