Mrs. Elizabeth Stocke, wife of Francis Stocke, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.W. Hahn, in Cedar Rapids, Neb., Dec. 9, 1906, age about 78 years. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Winkleman. She was born in Switzerland and came with her parents to this country when she was about five years old. They first located in Ohio, but removed to Iowa over fifty years ago and settled in Grandview. She was married to Francis Stocke in 1856. They celebrated their golden wedding last April. She is survived by her husband, now 84 years of age, and three children: Mrs. Emma Hahn and Mrs. Louisa Thompson, of Cedar Rapids, Neb., and C.W. Stocke of this place. Three children preceded her. She also leaves two sisters: Mrs. Anna Nedely, of Davenport, and Mrs. Rosa Hascher, residing near Grandview.

The old folks left here about the middle of October to make their home with their daughters in Nebraska, the son expecting to join them in the spring. Her remains arrived last Wednesday and the funeral services were held at the Evangelical church in Grandview, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Hummel.
