Mrs. Minnie Stephens departed this life at her home near Grandview, Ia., Wednesday morning, Oct. 6, 1909, after an illness extending over a period of two months. Deceased was the daughter of Elias Michael and wife, long time residents of this county, in the vicinity of Grandview, where she was born May 5, 1875. She was united in marriage with Jesse Stephens April 9, 1896, who with her three daughters, Pearl, Mildred and Bessie, her aged father and mother and three sisters, Mrs. Chas. Connor, of near Columbus Junction; Mrs. Henry Schaffer, of Wapello, and Mrs. Arch Crow, of Columbia, Mo., survive her. The funeral services were held from the home Friday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Heverly and Rev. Barker. A very large number of friends and neighbors testified their esteem by their presence. The remains were interred in the Grandview cemetery. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community.
