Lottie Ann, daughter of Simon Phillip and Nancy Helen Buster, was born March 1st, 1869, in Louisa county, and died at her residence near Grandview, Iowa, October 31st, 1915. She was united in marriage to Delno Franklin Stineman in September 1888, at Wapello, Iowa. To this union were born seven children, Beulah Shellabarger, and Frank of Port Louisa; Harry, Paul, Marion, and Faith at home, Ruth having died March 1st, 1911. These with her devoted husband, seven brothers and one sister, deeply mourn her loss. About a year ago, Mrs. Stineman became seriously ill from various complications, and lately underwent an operation, but did not permanently improve. She had recently spent some time in the Burlington hospital, taking treatment, returning home on October 17th somewhat improved. At 2 a.m., October 30th, she awoke in severe pain and soon became unconscious, remaining so till death.
Mrs. Stineman was converted to God when 17 years of age, under the ministry of Rev. U.B. Smith, and united with the M.E. church. She will be much missed in church and home circles. She was a loving and devoted mother, a faithful wife and a good neighbor, ambitious to serve God and do good. She taught a Sunday school class, when health permitted, and was an active member of the Ladie's Aid. An immense concourse of people attended the funeral services on November 2nd, at the Grandview M.E. church. By request of the deceased, the funeral discourse was based on Timothy 4.7, by Rev. H.W. Cannon. A touching address was also given by Rev. R.V. Pike, a former pastor. The floral offerings were numberous. Interment was in the Grandview cemetery.
