Funeral services for 81 year old Orval Werner of Muscatine, formally of Nichols was held on Saturday, February 3, 1996 at 10:30 a.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction, Iowa. Visitation was held on Friday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m.

Orval Werner died on Tuesday, January 30, 1996 at Mercy Hospital. A memorial has been established at the funeral home. Burial was in the Columbus City Cemetery.

Orval Werner was born May 30, 1914 in Winfield, Iowa to Beneluis & Margaret McCullough Werner. He married Wilma Gabriel April 5, 1942 in Memphis, Missouri. Orval was a life long farmer in the area. Orval was a member of the Nichols United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Ms. Margaret M. Werner, Bellevue, Washington, Mrs. Orvetta S. O'Leary, Camanche, Iowa and Mrs. Mary B. Fowler, Muscatine, Iowa. There are 6 grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Roy Werner, Solon, Iowa, and three sisters, Mrs. Bessie York, Chicago, Illinois, Mrs. Frances Callari, Beverly Hills, Florida, Mrs. Lorena Gipple, Winfield, Iowa. Orval was preceded in death by his parents, Wife, Wilma, January 15, 1996, a brother, four sisters and two grandchildren.
