Myrtle Mills, 98, died Monday evening, October 15, 1990 at the Wapello Nursing and Care Center.

Services will be Sunday, Oct. 21, 1990, at 2 p.m. at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home. The Rev. George Yetter will officiate. Burial will be at the Wapello Cemetery.

The family will meet with friends on Saturday, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Wapello United Methodist Women.

The former Myrtle Thirtyacre was born Oct. 3, 1892, at Rabena, Neb., a daughter of John and Sadie Lewis Thirtyacre. Her marriage to Glen Mills took place Nov. 2, 1910, in Muscatine. He died July 6, 1989. The couple moved from Muscatine to Wapello in 1925, and together operated a service station for 23 years before retiring in 1972. They had noted their 78th wedding anniversary in 1988.

She was a member of the Wapello United Methodist Church and was a 70-year member of the royal Neighbors of America.

Survivors include one son, Ivan Mills, of Ashland, Ore.; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents and one son Vernon, also preceded her in death.
