Myrtle E. Jones, age 91, of 701 E. Pennington, West Burlington, Iowa, died Saturday, May 18, 1996 at her home.

The daughter of Irvin and Harriett Moon Brown, she was born July 12, 1904 at Oakville. She had married Lloyd R. Jones on September 6, 1924 at Keithsburg, Illinois. He preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and had worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for 32 years at the Univ. of Iowa and other nursing ficilities retiring in 1985. She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Oakville.

Survivors include a brother, Ralph Brown of Oakville and a sister, Geneva Anderson of Burlington, along with several nieces and newphes. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lloyd; a son Lloyd in 1984; two sisters; and one brother.

The funeral service for Myrtle Jones was held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 1996 at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello, with Rev. Judith Shields officiating. Burial followed at the Edwards Cemetery at Oakville.

The family met friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home.

A memorial fund has been established for the United Methodist Church at Oakville.

The casket bearers were Bob Brown, Craig Brown, Wayne Brown, Steve Brown, Wayne Caparoon, and Mel Gerdner. The music was provided by Bev Parsons as organist.
