Lucy Hattie Strawhacker, age 92, of Wapello died thursday morning October 11, 1990 at Muscatine General Hospital.

She was born March 5, 1898 at Colbrook, Illinois the daughter of William and Martha Hawkins Johnson. On October 28, 1914, she married Steve Strawhacker at Burlington, Iowa.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the VFW Auxiliary, and the former Eagles Lodge all of Wapello.

Survivors include two sons Harry of Wapello and Carl of Apache Junction, Arizona; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; one sister Mrs. John (Ethel) Stoller of Burlington; and one brother Dick Johnson of Rio, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter Mildred; two sisters Daisy and Martha; and three brothers George, Gay and William.

Funeral service for Lucy Hattie Strawhacker was held Saturday, October 13, 1990 at 2:00 p.m. at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home with Rev. George Yetter officiating. Phyllis McCulley providede the organ music. Casket bearers were Kenneth Stigge, Mike Schneider, Wilfred Wehage, Kermit Kinsley, Bill Call, and Ed Cardwell. Burial followed at the Parsons Cemetery. The family met with friends Friday evening at Dudgeon-McCulley funeral Home. A momorial fund has been established.
