Funeral services for 49 year old Kirk Karl Keltner of Columbus Junction, Iowa were held Sunday, September 29, 1996 at 2:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Columbus Juncstion, Iowa. Kirk died on Thursday in Columbus Junction. The body was cremated after the service. Burial will be at a later date.

Visitation was Saturday afternoon and evening at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, with Masonic Rites at 8 p.m. A memorial has been established at the funeral home.

Kirt Karl Kelter was born June 26, 1947 in Muscatinek, Iowa to Harlan and Margie Jordan Keltner. He married Linda Maxwell June 30, 1968 in Winfield, Iowa.

Kirt was a life-long farmer in the area. Kirt had graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He had run his own accounting business since 1970. Kirt was a member of the National Association of Accountants and the Iowa State Association of Accountants. Kirt was enrolled to practice before the Internal Revenue Service.

Kirt was a member of the Columbus City Masonic Lodge #107 A.F.&A.M., and the Kaaba Shrine. He was a member of the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church. He was a 4-H leader and had been coach of both sons' Little League teams. He was a 1990 past president of the Columbus Community School Booster Club. Kirt was treasurer of the Louisa County Cattleman's Association and a member of the U of I Alumni association.

Kirt is survived by his wife, Linda, Columbus Junction; a daughter, Kameo Keltner, student at the University of Iowa, Iowa City; two sons, Kyle Keltner, Chicago and Kasey Keltner at home; his parents, Harlan and Margie Keltner, Columbus Junction; a sister, Mrs. August (Kathy) Narmont, Columbus, Ohio.

Kirt was preceded in death by his grandparents.
