Kimberly Rae Rice, age 30, of Olin, Iowa, died Monday evening, October 211, 1996 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids as a result of a traffic accident.

The daughter of Jerry and Jean Robertson Larimer, she was born April 2, 1966 at Muscatine, Iowa.

Kim was a graduate of Columbus Junction School in 1984. She had taken courses at Kirkwood Community College. She was employed at Nordic Inc. of Tipton.

She married Andrew S. Rice on November 11, 1989 at North Liberty.

Kim attended the Church of the Nazarene at Wapello. She enjoyed her children and enjoyed the outdoors in gardening and being with horses. She was artistically talented and enjoyed various crafts.

Survivors include her husband, Andrew; two daughters, Sasha Clark and Andrea Rice; a son, Dolan Rice; two step-children, Jason and Jennifer Rice; her parents, Jerry and Lean Larimer of Columbus Junction; her grandmothers, Orletha Robertson of Columbus Junction and Mildred Larimer of Coralville; and three step-sisters, Kathy Christ of Coralville, Veronica Martin of Cedar Rapids, and Dian Schmelzer of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Bud Robertson and Parker Larimer.

The family gathered for private visitation from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday evening at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, followed by public visitation from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

The funeral service for Kim Rice was held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 1996 at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello, with Rev. Claude Perhealth officiating. Music was provided by Karen Grimm as organist, and also a special taped selection of 'There Is Only One' done by Kim's daughter, Sasha.

Burial followed at the Wapello Cemetery. The casket bearers included Mike Semotan, Roy Robertson, Jackie Robertson, Steve Scorpil, Dave Michael and Ben Scorpil.

Honorary bearers were Mark Rice, Paul Rice, Tim Rice, Lane Walker, Charlie Terrones, and Mark Korad.

The flower attendants were Nancy Scorpil, Lorie Semotan, and Diane Terrones. A memorial fund has been established for an education fund for Kim's children.
