Harold R. Neipert, Wilton, IA, age 76, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 1996 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus.

Born Jan. 19, 1920 in Muscatine the son of Chester and Myrtle Metzger Neipert, he married Lucille Gerdts, June 28, 1942 in Kahoha, MO.

He was a member of the Muscatine Moose Lodge. He loved to hunt and fish, raise rabbits, work in his garden, and feed the birds. He especially enjoyed farming and playing pool. He was an Army Veteran of WW-II.

He retired after working 31 years as a shipping clerk for John Deere Plow & Planter Division.

Survivors include his wife; 5 sons, Gregory, Davenport, Dennis, Moscow, John, Wapello, Bill, Muscatine, and Dave, Tipton; 2 daughters, Lou Ann Kerschenske, Muscatine, and Marci Sherwood, Wilton; 18 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Don Neipert, Wilton; 3 sisters, Gertrude Kaalberg, Muscatine, Ruth Stachar, Muscatine, and Marilyn Ruckles, Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

Services were at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 1996 at Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home, Muscatine. Burial was in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery Community Garden Mausoleum.

Pallbearers were Ryan Neipert, Christopher Neipert, Matt Neipert, Nicholas Neipert, Brian Neipert, and Bryan Neipert. Honorary pallbearers were Jeff Mally, Matt Schell, Rob Sherwood and Marvin Kerschenske.

Visitation was Monday evening. A general memorial has been established for the family.
