Ethel M. Johnson Brady, age 92 of Mediapolis, died Sunday, March 30, 1997 at the Community Care of America in Mediapolis.

The daughter of A.J. and M.D. (Schachel) Inghram, she was born Oct. 6, 1904 at Burlington. On October 10, 1923 she married Everett (Tip) Johnson; he died May 31, 1959. She later married J.E. Brady of Lone Rock, Wisconsin in July of 1976; he died in October 1976.

She was employed at Thie's Grocery and Howell Food Store, both in Mediapolis. She was a member of the Mediapolis American Legion Auxiliary for over 50 years. In earlier years she attended the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mediapolis.

Survivors include 1 son, Robert E. Johnson and his wife Sue of Mediapolis, 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Husbands, 1 brother, 1 sister, 3 infant sons and twin infant daughters.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 2, 1997 at 10:30 a.m. from the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis with Rev. H. Dick Reynolds officiating. Music was provided by Korkee Carruthers, organist.

Casket bearers were Robert Johnson, John Johnson, Bryan Myers, Ed Schulthies, and Vincent Villont. Interment followed at the Kossuth Cemetery.

Friends called as desired Tuesday at Hagele and Honts. There was no family visitation. A memorial has been established for the Mediapolis Community Ambulance Service.
