Elmer Blint, brother of Dean Blint of Oakville, died at 6:50 a.m., Tuesday, March 4, 1997 at Fort Madison Community Hospital in Fort Madison.

Born Jan. 17, 1917 in Denmark, IA he was the son of William and Nellie Donnelly Blint. He lived all his life in the Denmark area and on the farm owned by his parents where he and Dean lived after the death of their parents until Dean was married (Dean still oversaw Elmer's needs and care). About 4 years ago Elmer fell and broke his hip and since was a resident of the Fort Madison Health Center.

Mr. Blint was a retired farmer, having worked for several farmers in the area and also had worked at the Pioneer Seed Corn Plant when it was located at Wever, IA.

Survivors include one sister, Helen Goodwin (Joey) of Ottumwa, IA (presently a resident of Maple Leaf Care Center in Mt. Pleasant, IA); four brothers, Ralph Blint (Henrietta) of West Point, IA, Donald Blint (Leora) of Burlington, IA, Dean Blint (Delpha) of Oakville, IA, and Lloyd Blint (Mary Kay) of Beloit, Wis; a large number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Ray Blint (Pauline) of Fort Madison, Albert Blint (Laura) of Janesville, Wis, and William Blint (Virginia) of Comanche, IA; two sisters, Frances Martin (Leonard) of Denmark, IA and Doris Watznauer (Wilbert) of Fort Madison, IA.

Visitation was thursday at King-Lynk Funeral Home in Fort Madison, IA where the family received friends in the evening.

The funeral for Mr. Blint was at 10:30 a.m. Friday at King-Lynk Funeral Home with Rev. David O'Rourke officiating. Burial was in the Woodmansee Cemetery of Rual West Point near Denmark, IA.
