Elizabeth 'Liz' Teresa Hank, age 16, of Wapello, IA, died Saturday night October 21, 1995 at the Wykert's Landing of the Mississippi River southeast of Oakville.

The daughter of Doug and Teresa Marshall Hank, she was born August 6, 1979 at Burlington.

Elizabeth was a sophomore at Wapello High School where she was active in track, cross-country, and softball. Last year she was named to the All conference Team of cross country. Last week in the Wapello Republican she was named Athlete of the Week.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Wapello. She worked as a clerk at the Jack & Jill Store in Wapello.

Some of her favorites include country western music, roller-blading, running and cards.

Survivors include her parents Doug and Teresa Hank of Wapello; two brothers, Brad Douglas Hank and Tyler Jay Hank both at home; a special family friend, Chevy Yotter of Wapello; a special niece, Stasha Giese; grandparents, Dean and Pat Samuels of Wapello and Joann (Mrs. Kenneth) Brase of Muscatine; and great-grandmothers, Mary Lihs and Lu Hartsock both of Wapello.

The funeral service for elizabeth Hank was held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 1995 at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello with Rev. Darryl Erickson and Rev. John Ling officiating and Mr. Gavin Hjerleid with special remarks.

The burial followed at the Wapello Cemetery.

The family met friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home.

A memorial fund has been established for the benefit of the Wapello High School Girls Softball Team and the All-Weather Track Fund.

The casket bearers were Brett Shafer, Brett Black, Rob Pforts, Quintin Allworth, Ron Coleman, Jason Sprague, Mark Wagner, Nate Miller, and Clint Walker.
