Ruth Ida Gillette Henry, 81, of Rockford, Ill., died at 5:20 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 1997 at Fairview Nursing Plaza.

Born Feb. 25, 1916 at Wapello, she was the daughter of Lucius P. and Lulu Pontzius Gillette.

Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Tidwell of Pahoa, Hawaii, and Carolyn Gilman of Hilo, Hawaii; one sister, Marjorie Strawhacker of Mediapolis; her former husband, Dale Henry of Oceanside, Calif; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

She was a graduate of the Wapello High School.

A private funeral service will be at the Wapello Cemetery. Honq1uest Family Funeral Service of Rockford is in charge of arrangements.
