Russell Gene Dunsmore, 65, of Winfield, died Friday, October 20, 1995, at the Henry County Health Center following a farm-related accident.

Born February 26, 1930, at Ainsworth, he was the son of Harold and Edna Zimmerman Dunsmore. On February 13, 1949, he married Martha Lorrine Wiley at Cairo.

Mr. Dunsmore worked as a feed salesman for Walnut Grove Feeds for 15 years. He was golf course superintendent at Twin Lakes in Winfield for six years and then at Cedarcrest Country Club in Columbus Junction for the past 15 years before his retirement in 1995.

He was a graduate of Cotter High School and a member of the Winfield United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Pat Fricke of Winfield and Becky Ross of Iowa City; a son, Kevin Dunsmore of Winfield; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; five sisters, Myrl Williams of Canada, Mary Rings of Farmington, Guenn Kehoe of Iowa City, Edith Worrell of Knobnoster, MO., and Dorothy Morrison of Columbus Junction; and two brothers, Allen Dunsmore of Brighton and James Dunsmore of Iowa City. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation was Sunday at the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield. the funeral for Mr. Dunsmore was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Winfield United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Anne Lippincott offficiating. Burial was in Sheridan Cemetery west of Mount Union.

A memorial has been established.
