Paul Kallenberger, 88, a resident of the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, died there Jan. 10. A former resident of Muscatine and Wapello, he had been at the home three years and resided with his sister the previous five years.

Services were Jan. 13 at All Faiths Chapel at the veterans home with the Rev. Gaudence Schroeder officiating. Burial was in Sunset Cemetery. The Hansen-Spear Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kallenberger was born Nov. 6, 1899, in Muscatine, the son of Chris and Catherine Nevins Kallenberger. He married Gladys Gustison on Oct. 16, 1954, in Quincy. She preceded him in death.

He was of the Catholic faith. In Wapello, he was employed by Tillman Motors. He was employed 30 years with ABC Packaging Company and had been a bartender at the Labor Temple for many years.

Surviving are a sister, Marie (Toots) Saunders of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
