John Tindall, 89, of rural Morning Sun, died Saturday, Jan. 9 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

He was born May 26, 1892 to Robert John and Minnie Bell Maiden Tindall. He married Mae Lucille Martin Oct. 24, 1912. She died in 1971.

He farmed in the Morning Sun community and was a member of the Cairo Evangelical United Brethren Church.

Surviving: two daughters, Evelyn Gipple, rural Columbus Junction, Geneva Grossley, rural Morning Sun; one sister, Mrs. Velma Todd, Mediapolis; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13 at Spring Run United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Brown Garlock officiating. Gladys Davis was vocalist. Verna Buffington was organist.

Pallbearers were John Cutkomp, Neil Grim, Fred Brown, Duane Beenblosson, Harold Boysen and Darrell Schenk.

Janice Gipple and Teresa Vantiger assisted with the flowers.

Burial was in the Cairo Cemetery under the direction of Pierce
