Dalford R. Barrick, 62, died Monday, Jyuly 29, 1996, at his home, 2409 Lutheran Drive, No. 1.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Michael Spangler of the First Presbyterian Church, with Chaplain Robert Ahlstrom of Lutheran Homes, assisting. Betty Lincoln will be organist. Pallbearers will be Robert Meyer, Gary Grete, Lloyd Meyerholz, Mike Norton, Marlin Eichelberger, and Lum Beatty, Entombment will be at the Community Garden Mausoleum at the Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or to Lutheran Homes.

Mr. Barrick was born Dec. 5, 1933, in Wapello, a son of Rolland Oscar and Edith Alice Mathews Barrick. He married Virginia Buffington on Sept. 25, 1960, in Wapello.

He was a member of the Muscatine Moose Lodge, and the First Presbyterian, where he was a past elder and deacon.

He owned and operated a barbershop on Mulberry Avenue for 17 years prior to working at B.T. Prime Mover. He retired in 1994.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia; one son, Samuel J. Barrick of Tampa, Fla.; one daughter, Mrs, Troy (Denise) Ness of Muscatine; three grandchildren, Hannah Barrick, and Ridge and Rebecca Ness; three brothers, Lester Barrick of Wapello, Hoyt Barrick of Osage, and Sydney Barrick of Sun City, Ariz.; and two sisters, Jeanette Humphrey of Wapello, and Mrs. Ralph (Inger) Gibson of Wayland.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandchild, Ryan Ness, and one brother, Stanley.
