David E. Winters, a former resident of Morning Sun, died May 9, 1994 at Harrisburg Medical Center, Harrisburg, IL. Born February 2, 1918 at Cave-In-Rock, IL he married Laura Scott July 4, 1942. He moved to Iowa in 1959 and worked at U.S. Gypsum Plant, Sperry, IA and Linwood Stone, Buffalo, IA until retiring, then returned to Illinois. He was a WW-II Veteran European Theatre, Army Air Corp-Military Police.

David is survived by his wife of Cave-In-Rock, IL; his daughters: Shirley Rice, Carol Cochran, Chris Morris and Marsha Purdy of Wapello, IA and Kay Johnston of Morning Sun, IA. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Burial was May 11 at Cave-In-Rock, IL.
