Dale Howard Walker, age 73, of Wapello, Iowa, died Friday afternoon, February 4, 1994 at the Community Care Center (formerly Bethesda) of Muscatine.

The son of Frank I. and Hazel Ann Miller Walker, he was born November 15, 1920 at Wapello.

He had been a school bus driver for the Wapello Community School and previously a truck driver for Dearmin Trucking, and had also been active in farming. He was a 50 year member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge of Wapello and had attended the First Baptist Church at Muscatine.

Survivors include two brothers, Marvin Walker of Wapello and Dean Walker of Muscatine; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Dale Walker was held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, February 7, 1994 at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, with Rev. William E. Means officiating. Bev Parsons provided the organ music. The casket bearers included Howard Rickey, Harold Small, Darrell Walker, Mike Walker, Mike Parish and Mike Hall. Burial followed at the Wapello Cemetery with Odd Fellow Rites.

The family met with friends Sunday afternoon at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home.

A memorial fund has been established for the benefit of the Wapello Rescue Unit.
