John McDaniel was born in Ross county, Ohio, November 20, 1835. He was united in marriage to Mary Stineman, October 28, 1857. To this union was born five children, the wife and three daughters having preceded him in death, the wife dying June 12, 1893. The two children who survive him are Mrs. Ida McCulley, of Grandview, and Mrs. Anna Connor, of Amsterdam, New York. he was afterward united in marriage to Mary A. Taylor, Sept. 24, 1894, who survives him. At the time of his death he was 70 years, 7 months, and 4 days old.
