PASSES AWAY AFTER PROLONGED ILLNESS

JOHN T. DUNPHY DIES AT HOME ON GRANDVIEW AVENUE.

Was Very Well Known in This City and Death is Regretted by Many - Interment Monday.

As a result of a stroke of paralysis which he suffered on last Monday, John T. Dunphy passed away at his home on Grandview avenue last evening. He has been ailing for the past few days little hope was entertained for his recovery. Having been born in this city, and living here during his entire life he was very well known and the announcement of his death will be received with regret by many of the Muscatine people. He was a life-long member of St. Mary's Catholic church, from which place the funeral will be held Monday morning at 9 o'clock.

He was born in Muscatine July 9, 1865, and lived here all his life. He was united in marriage to Miss Josie Rice November 26, 1895. His wife and two children, Ellen and Genevieve, survive him. He is also survived by his aged mother, two sisters and a brother, Miss Lucy Dunphy, Mrs. Frank Grady and M.J. Dunphy, all of this city. He was a member of the Hershey Hose company and of the M.B.A. lodge.
