Popular Young Woman is dead.

A death which brought with it the deepest sorrow was that which occurred Monday evening when the useful life of Mrs. John Callahan came to a close. Her death occurred at her home in Muscatine followed by a five week's illness with anaemia. Last week the young woman, who was loved by all who knew her, became critically ill and her life was despaired of at the time but at the close of the week she appeared to be improving again. Mrs. Callahan was a bride of less than a year and her untimely departure is a severe blow to her husband and friends.

Ruby McGrew was born in Louisa county, December 20, 1882. She received her education in that county and six years ago went to Muscatine where she was employed at the Iowa Bell Telephone office. She worked at that place until last June at which time she was united in marriage with John Callahan. She was a devout member of the St. Mathias church, and was loved by all who knew her for her sweet disposition and her beautiful character. She leaves to mourn her, besides her husband and infant daughter, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M.S. McGrew, of Grandview, Iowa, one sister, Katherine McGrew, of Grandview. Nine brothers also mourn her death, they being Willis, Harry, John, Charles, and Clarence McGrew of Grandview, and Archie of Cedar, Minn., Edward of Waterloo, Earl of Omaha, and Oliver McGrew, of Muscatine.
