MRS. C.A. PALLETTE DIES IN MUSCATINE
Passed Away Friday Morning at 8:30 O'clock.

FORMER RESIDENT OF COUNTY

Remains Were Brought Back to the Old Home in Grandview and Services Held - Interment in the Grandview Cemetery.

Mrs. Cynthia A. Pallette passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.W. Guessregen, 320 Main St., Muscatine, Friday morning at 8:30 o'clock, death being due to injuries resulting from an accident which occurred about five weeks ago, when she fell and fractured the hip bone.

Mrs. Pallette, who was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. W. Thompson, deceased was born in Sullivan, Ind., January 1, 1843, and when a young girl, she, with her parents removed to Port Louisa, Iowa, where she received her education. Later she became a resident of Grandview, where she lived until about one year ago, when she moved to Muscatine. On October, 1861, she was united in marriage with William M. Pallette, whose death occurred more than thirty years ago.

Mrs. Pallette was very favorably known in Louisa county and the news of her death will be sadly received here as well as in Muscatine.

The following are the survivors: four children, namely, Mrs. Alice Hildebaugh, of Roswell, South Dakota, Mrs. Lucy Kent and Mrs. Clara Guessregen, of Muscatine, and James R. Pallette, of Grandview; two brothers, Riley Thompson, of Elk City, Kans.; and James Thompson, of Chambers, Neb.; three sisters, Mrs. Lucy Matson, of Morning Sun; Mrs. Lizzie Mitchell, of Linton, Ind.: and Mrs. Alice Kilgore, of Farmersburg, Ind.; one half-sister, Mrs. Rebecca Gordon, of Sullivan, Ind.; and two half-brothers, Geo. Thompson, of Fredonia, and Stewart Thompson, of Sullivan, Ind. Eleven grandchildren also mourn her demise.

The funeral was held on Friday. Brief services were conducted by Dr. J.B. Smith, at the late residence at 9:30 o'clock and at 10:40 o'clock, the remains were taken to the Evangelical church at Grandview, where the sermon was delivered by Rev. Boozer. Interment was made at Grandview cemetery.
