Dale Eugene Guthery, age 47, of 822 Main Street, Mediapolis, Iowa died Thursday morning, April 25, 1996 at the Burlington Medical Center. The son of Thurston Eugene, and Lois Evelyn Skomp Gughery, he was born January 6, 1949 at Ann Arbor, Michigan. He married Michelle Marie McLaughlin on December 5, 1974 at Dodgeville, Iowa.

He was a construction superintendent for L.W. Matteson Marine Service of Burlington. He had graduated from the Switz City High School of Switz City, Indiana. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Michelle; one son, Dale Gughery, at home and two daughters, Danielle and Shannon both at home; his mother, Lois Guthery of Bloomfield, Indiana; a sister, Judy Edleman of Bloomfield; and a brother, Larry Gughery of Corpus Christi, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father.

The funeral service for Dale E. Gughery was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 29, 1996 at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Dodgeville with Rev. Jerry Stouvenel officiating. Burial followed at St. Mary's Cemetery at Dodgeville.

Friends called after 10:00 a.m. Sunday with the family meeting friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, Mediapolis.

A memorial fund has been established for the benefit of the Mediapolis Community Ambulance Service.
