Funeral services for 69 year old Betty Westfall of Des Moines, Iowa, formerly of Columbus Junction, were held on Friday, May 21, at 1:30 p.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home with Rev. Walden Paige officiating. Donna Belle Hughes was the organist and Brian Cummings the vocalist. Casket bearers were Don McCullough, Bob Reid, Charles Staley, Gary Kistler, Larry Prior and Mark Huston. Burial was in the Columbus City Cemetery.

Mrs. Westfall died Wednsday, May 19, 1993, at the Iowa Methodist Hospital, Des Moines, following a short illness.

Betty June Kistler was born March 3, 1924, at Columbus Junction, the daughter of Arthur and Jessie Vandermark Kistler. She married Valeo D. "Sonny" Westfall June 1, 1957, at Wapello. Betty was a life long resident of the Columbus Junction area until moving to Des Moines in December, 1992.

She had worked for 16 years with the telephone company in Columbus Junction and Mount Pleasant and in November, 1969, began work at the Columbus Junction State Bank as a teller until her retirement in January, 1992.

Survivors include her son, Richard Perkins of West Des Moines, Iowa; one grandson, Todd Radosevich; one brother, Marvin Kistler of Columbus Junction; four sisters, Mrs. Earl (Merle) Scott of Columbus Junction, Mrs. Howard (Twyla) Adams of Waukegan, Illinois; Mrs. Harold (Vivian) Gravvatt of Mattoon, Illinois and Mrs. Evelyn Jarvis of Sidney, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and one sister.
