KERMIT F. WIRT
Kermit Fred Wirt, age 60, Mediapolis, died Friday, September 3, 1993 at Burlington Medical Center.

The son of Fred and Marie (Heckenberg) Wirt, he was born June 13, 1933 at Burlington. On July 10, 1966 he married Kay Adolphson at Mediapolis.

He was a graduate of the Huron High School, class of 1951; served in the Army from 1951-53; was a 4-H leader and a member of the Odd Fellow Lodge in Mediapolis; Kerm was a farmer and had been employed at the I.A.A.P. for the last 6 years.

Survivors include his wife of Mediapolis; 2 daughters, LeAnne (Jerry) Edle of Sperry, and Kathy (Brett) Bonar of Morning Sun; 3 sons, Dan and his friend Donna Cluney of Mediaopolis, Jeff and Darrin, both at home; 1 grandson, Blake Bonar; 1 brother, Merlin Wirt of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 6, 1993 at 10:30 a.m. from the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, Mediapolis, with Rev. John Gaulke officiating. Music was provided by Denise Smuck, organist. Honorary bearers were Bruce Bentley, Lloyd Schofield, Ray Peterson, Hank Thie and Hartzell Hillyard. Casket bearers were Carroll Horton, John Wischmeier, Jr., Curtis Pflum, Dave Eberhardt, Mike Wirt and Nick Wirt.

Interment was in Kossuth Cemetery.

A general memorial has been established in his name.
